Cage got to know him through their friendship with that band. Matthan Minster formed a band called YOURS in 2010. Members of Cage the Elephant had previously been involved in the band Perfect Confusion when they were in high school and released a self-titled LP in 2005.
Cage the Elephant's song "Shake Me Down" features drummer Jared Champion playing on a set of toy drums. The guitar riff of the song was taken from a different song written by bassist Daniel Tichenor's father. The bass line of the song was inspired by The Shins. Indy Kidz, Sell Yourself, Sabretooth Tiger, and Japanese Buffalo are all kinda misses for me. Overall my least favorite album because it's the only one that has songs I dislike. I don’t really think Cage has a TRASH song, but honestly, not a fan of Social Cues, the title track at least. Kinda makes me tired.
