Found the leak to a T. It's coming from the hardline, actually saw it coming out. When I had it replaced at the dealer, the tech had a VERY difficult time replacing this part. He did not remove the intake manifold, which allows room to pull the hardline off. I tried it myself and gave up because of this particular problem. Another common problem with the Mk5 GTI's engine is the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV). Check for this by removing the dipstick. Jun 21, 2012. #3. i'm assuming the rack takes a lot of power, check the large vertical fuses in the engine bay fuse box. i don't know if they're labelled like the rest. Check. SA1. SA2. 2 fuses in the front vertical position of the engine fuse box. 1 is 200 amps, 2 is 80 amps. edit 80 amps not 90, corrected above.
I tested the leads in block ‘A’ (front lighting) on the J519 (Vehicle Electronic System Control Module) and found very low voltage for the headlight. I’ve come to the conclusion the J519 has gone bad, at least at the ‘A’ block connector (did not test connection for rear lights but suspect the same result). The part number on my J519
